Default Gaze is broken but I'm loving it

Skill discription reads:

"Spell. The spirit nearest you loses 10...34 Health. Target foe is struck for 3 lightning damage for each point of health lost."

Fact of the matter:

Damage is not lightning but armor ignoring. 126 max armor ignoring damage is like Obs Flame with no exhaustion, faster cast, and a reasonable recharge. I been using Gaze with GoR in PvP and it's sooo good. I certainly hope they don't "fix it"- the skill is ok as it is, if it was lightning damage I would be seriously rethinking using it.

Fellow Rts, unite for Gaze spike!!!

Maybe Im missing something but isn't it only 102 dmg? Im not sure where the 134 comes from..

34x3 = 102...

Maybe Im missing something.. .

Either way, its a great skill none the less. Awesome energy cost and vert quick recharge for what it does. I think ritual spike has some serious potential. With Spirit Rift, Gaze, and other great stuff it has to offer I see it being a very good build in the future.

Valkyries. Perhaps you are forgetting that a Ritualist primary can boost any attribute to 16 ?! This would account for the extra 32 damage that Hella Good is talking about.

Im confused though. If you dont want it to get fixed, why did you post about it? lol.

Because its awesomeness must nonetheless be recognized. I remember that old skill descriptions did not include the 'lightning damage' bit, and apparently they updated the description while leaving the damage itself untyped and armor ignoring. No complaints here, but look for that to change.

Ah sorry, I assumed that he was talking about maxed damage... IE using 16 Channelling....

I checked a website too and it said 16 Channel was the same amount of damage.... but that website hasn't been completely accurate with factions. So perhaps it was incorrect when I checked it.

Either way, its a great spell. Definitely has a place in Ritualist Spike builds that run at least 1-2 spirits. Thats the only downfall, is you have to have a spirit in play first but being a ritualist shouldn't be too hard

I didn't think we could keep this cat in the bag- that's why I posted. Of course, I don't want it changed- it gives Channeling an awesome damage dealer and makes the whole attribute more attractive. However, ANet are gonna get to it sooner or later... so to Hell with it! Lets have some fun killing warriors in seconds! We should all do a Rt spike in Alliance battles.
